Public Sector Hires as Private Sector Fires

It's a "recovery", but as I said it would be, it is a totally manipulated "recovery".

U.S. businesses have fired 6 million workers since Dec. 31, 2007. Government has added 244,000 positions during the same period.

Bloomberg's CHART OF THE DAY shows how the percentage of government workers at all levels -- federal, state and local -- has grown as a percentage of the total employed since 1989, according to the U.S. Labor Department. It now stands at 17 percent, the highest since the 17.4 percent posted on Aug. 31, 1992. The highest it has been since 1960 was 19.4 percent, recorded on July 31, 1975.
