There's a ton of news developing around Russia, secret meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the U.S announcing that they will not place an anti-missile defense system in Central Europe. Just by coincidence, of course, on this coming Monday afternoon, Secretary Geithner will meet with First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Ivanovich Shuvalov of the Russian Federation.
He will follow that meeting up by convening a meeting of the the President's Working Group on Financial Markets, aka, The Plunge Protection Team. Geithner serves as chairman of the PPT but, the whole gang will be there as members, Fed Chairman Bernanke, Securities and Exchange Commission head Mary Schapiro, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission head Gary Gensler.
