You Might Be a Fascist, If...

...you don't dislike government more after watching this video, says Tim Carney.

  1. Why were they removing the poles?

I did not like to see the citizens being treated that way by the ruling class government maggots. It was wrong.

HOWEVER, I do not like those basketball poles because they are a noise nuisance and have no place in a neighborhood. If you want to play basket ball, go to the gym. The bouncing ball and yelling during basketball make a LOT of noise that disturbs people. People have a right to have peace and quiet in their homes - you do not have a right to make someone listen to bouncing basket balls in their home! It is most unfortunate that we have to live in anthills, in each others way, but apparently we've bred ourselves out of any other option.

  2. I too would have liked to hear the other side of the story. Teenagers can play basketball for many hours at a time and the incessant dribbling can be maddening.

Isn't there some right to peace and quiet in one's own home? Why were these certain poles picked out -- perhaps because their kids were disrespectful of others' rights to peaceful enjoyment of their own homes?

  3. Anonymous - it is clear from the video that the pole was there for 60 years. It wasn't a nuisance all these years and suddenly it is???

This is trespass and theft, pure and simple. And I hope the owner of the pole will sue the government people involved for the full value of installing the replacement plus damages.

  4. Quote from Anonymous: "People have a right to have peace and quiet in their homes ..."

Where is that written? If you want peace and quiet in your home, don't live so close to other people.

It's your silly notion that you have rights that don't exist that leads to these exact situations. Somebody who is willing to use government thugs to attack their neighbors over their "right" to peace and quiet.

Be quiet, or we'll kill you. Fascist.

  5. So sick!!! So much nonsense going on, but it looks like it might be needed to wake people up.
Side note: how much time and money did the city waste to have a bunch of bball poles removed?

Here's another side story in the ever growing world of freedom.

Last week a female neighbor of mine was pulled over by a Naperville, IL police officer and ticketed. The charge/charge? He said he was following her for a mile and that she was holding her cup of coffee in her hand for too long. She should have her hands on the wheel and was being unsafe.

  6. This is why you most play the game with a code speaker.

In Florida they went on a rampage killing citrus fruit trees in order to protect farmers from a parasite (no pun intended). Of course they had no science to back up their claims that what they were doing was effective, but it was a great way to get the public out of the citrus growing business. If they found the parasite (canker) within 5miles of your yard, they would come into your yard, cut down your citrus trees and leave you a walmart card for $25 to buy something else (fruit bearing citrus trees are worth hundreds). The only way you could have any hope of stopping or delaying them was through hiring an attorney. They eventually stopped after the public began taking legal action against them. If you tried as a citizen to stop them, you were arrested on your own property.

I also have to laugh at a citizen reminding a LE official of their constitutional rights. I know a lot of cops and I would say a vast majority have no clue or care about what's in the constitution or what those rights even mean. If their Lt or Captain tells them to do something, that's good enough for them.

  7. @anonymous. They have the right if the basketball hoop was their first. You can not move into an area already homesteaded with basketball noise and tell them to stop because you think it violates your rights.

  8. Disgusting behavior, and the anonymous idiots defending the government are even worse. Hope this goes viral and causes no end of problems for Delaware DOT.

  9. OMG. I'm a very passive person when it comes to most things, but I would have definitely gone to jail if I had been involved in that. When something is both illogical and unjust my blood starts to boil.

When a company does something to violate you in some way, at the very least, you can choose not to associate with them anymore, but when it's your government, it's like being forced to live with your rapist.

  11. Just dump some sticky liquid under the bball poles. Problem solved. :)

  12. geoih asked; concerning your right to peace in your home: "Where is that written?"

In most city ordinances, and in most HOA agreements.

But a little pancake syrup around the bball poles will solve the problem. :) LMFAO! :) ROF,LMFAO! ROF,LMFAO! ROF,LMFAO! ROF,LMFAO!

  13. So... all kids should now be prohibited from playing outdoors, because their noise may disturb the neighbors? I was delighted to hear there were *eight* basketball hoops on the street-- it's a sign of a vibrant neighborhood, where the kids are active.

If you have a right to peace and quiet in your house, I guess you'll have to call out the city to deal with the kids walking home from school, too. And don't forget the ones who play outside *without* a basketball hoop, shouting and giggling. In fact, nobody should ever play outside, ever. Kids should be quarantined in their basements with their video games until they go off to college, as they're apparently a public noise hazard. You'll also need to get animal control out to euthanize all your neighborhood's birds, cats, dogs, squirrels, raccoons, etc. Perhaps you can also get the city to ban thunderstorms and water dripping from the roof. And also cars. Cars make noise.

...or, you could just move to a 55+ retirement community. That's what they exist for.

  14. It's not clear at all from the video what the HOA ordinances are, or who was there first, or how much of a nuisance the kids were being, or how much noise they were making. We get only one side in the video.

The guy says the basketball pole has been there for 60 years but it sure didn't look like it. Again, we didn't get nearly enough information in this video to start tossing around words like "fascist".

  15. Everyone just post Albert Jay Nock quotes in the comments section and go hit a punching bag. Its a decent remedy.

  16. Actually we got plenty of information to hand out the word fascist. It's really quite simple. Who was the owner of the basketball pole? Obviously not the state. Did the owner of the pole want it removed? No. Therefore those who removed it were in the wrong. Easy.

  17. Kids should play outside, but they should not be bouncing balls. That pop pop pop sound carries thru walls/windows. Many people have to work the night shift and they must sleep in the daytime. Sad fact of life today in our sad, sad world.

If you want to put up one of these things, you should ask your neighbors if they object and if there might be hours when it would be acceptable. If they don't want to hear it, don't do it, problem solved - find a gym, either indoor or outdoor - or a park with a hoop. Otherwise if you put it up after the neighbors complain, out comes the Aunt Jemimah syrup and the kiddy tears start flowing. WAAAAAH! WAAAAAAH! IT'S ALL BUSHES FAULT!!!! :)

We've bred ourselves out of a decent standard of living. WE now have to live in dense, unlivable communities where we must be very careful not to offend the neighbors. BUT all that procreatin' was fun wasn't it?

Not sure what the reason was for removing the hoops in the video, but it could in some cases have been due to traffic hazard in the streets and in some cases that is a real issue.

  18. You see, videos like this make my blood boil in frustration. Not so much at the content, but at the videographer. Robert, don't show something like this again unless you have more info on what's going on. Was there a change in zoning that got voted on? A citation? Change in HOA? City and county officials do NOT simply up and do something like this without a reason. What they did costs THEM money from their budgets. They're lazy and like to protect their own departments budgets - they won't do something unless they have to.

Where's the context? What's the background? WHAT AM I NOT BEING TOLD? For city officials to remove 8 poles while ignoring others in the same neighborhood means there's a situation going on that we're not privy too. I do NOT like someone trying to yank my chain with half a story. There's obviously much we're not being told here.

  19. The problem is public property. If the streets were private then they could make the policy they want. The solution: get rid of all public/socialist/facsist roads and let people make their own rules on their own property.
