Ron Paul: Legalize Unpasturized Milk

Congressman Ron Paul asks: 'How much freedom do we have if we can't even drink unpasteurized milk?' in a statement announcing his introduction of HR 1830 into the House.

The bill would allow the shipment and distribution of unpasteurized milk and milk products for human consumption across state lines, a practice currently forbidden by the Food and Drug Administration.

"The FDA claims its regulatory powers over food safety give it the authority to ban the interstate sales of raw milk, but this is an unconstitutional misapplication of the commerce clause for legislative ends," Paul said. "Mr. Speaker, many Americans who the government wishes to deny the ability to purchase unpasteurized milk have done their own research and come to the conclusion that unpasteurized milk is healthier than pasteurized milk."

  1. finally someone will help stand up for Raw milk...we drank in when I was a child and it is the best milk for a person. Anyway I want to be able to have the choice to drink it if others do not want to.

  2. California is one of the few states where it is legal to buy it. I have been drinking raw milk for years as have my children. Anyone who tells you raw milk is too dangerous to be consumed is either a liar or an ignoramus.

  3. If I may please;

    Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate who would cut enough spending to avert a debt crisis. Only he will restore constitutionally sound money. And, only he will strengthen our national defense by bringing our troops home and putting an end to the nation-building that is draining our country.

    Watch Dr Paul question Ben Bernanke if you doubt Paul understands even subtle aspects of the economy. Imagine Palin or Romney doing that?

    Other candidates speak flowery words and tell nothing of how anything will get done. Mr. Paul is very different.

    Constitutionally, legislatively, and morally, Ron Paul has no equal. His 22 year voting record speaks for itself.

    "Some People don't like the truth; I'm going to vote for it."
    Ron Paul for President in 2012.
    Thank You
