Bachmann Considering Support for Elimination of the Minimum Wage

Michele Bachmann appears to have adopted another of Ron Paul's positions. During an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Bachmann said she is considering elimination of the minimum wage.

The minimum wage is what is preventing a lot of LBJ's great-grandkids from getting jobs, since their marginal revenue product on an hourly basis appears to be less than the minimum wage. Eliminating the minimum wage is a good thing and would actually provide an opportunity for many seriously unskilled to find their first job.

Bachmann also said corporate tax rates should be significantly reduced from a maximum 35 percent and capital gains taxes should be eliminated.

But, there is a clear difference between Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann. While Dr. Paul early in his career practiced medicine and delivered thousands of babies.

Michelle Bachmann was a tax lawyer for the IRS and has a post-doctorate degree in Federal Tax Law. She has stated that she represented the IRS in hundreds of cases against American citizens.

  1. While it is nice to see that Bachman and others are taking libertarian stances, ones that Ron Paul has been talking about for years. However, I cannot see them as being sincere since they only started talking about these things once they saw that Ron Paul's message is resonating with people. What is even worse is the fact that the people that support Bachman and some of these other stooges are the same people that have called (or, all calling) Ron Paul a "kook". Sorry, I'll be voting for the original in 2012, somebody who wasn't afraid to say these things when it wasn't popular, somebody who has stood for principles since the beginning; I'll be voting for Ron Paul.

  2. I would welcome the abolition of the minimum wage. But since this is coming Bachmann, it's almost guaranteed to never happen, the woman is a lying political hack.

  3. I don't have as much of a problem with Ron Paul as I do his supporters. He's pandered to the masses with his latest advocacy of drug use which is absurd because of its presumed (and flawed) benefit to the deficit. Under that logic, not arresting and prosecuting criminals is cheap only as far as the transient savings from law enforcement budgets. This is analogous to Bastiat's broken window fallacy. Yes, you can save a little on the immediate expenditures, but the toll it would take on investment, business and consumer spending and confidence with criminals acting with impunity is far higher.

  4. They should get rid of minimum wage. It prices low-income workers out of the labor market. I don't like Bachmann, but she's right on this one.

That is a clear difference! (The comments on that post are also priceless. "IRS/Federal Reserve: Two NWO people right from the bowels from hell.")"
