Giethner Calls for a More Bankster Friendly Europe

The EuroZone has a European Central Bank, but it doesn't operate in a co-ordinated fashion the way the Federal Reserve and Treasury do in the United States. In other words, it is much more difficult for banksters to launch their grand operations in Europe. Treasury Secretary Geithner wants to change that and make the eurozone the same type of playground for banksters as the US is. WaPo reports:
Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner is pushing to make the European Central Bank the ultimate guarantor of bonds issued by the 17 countries that share the euro, a fundamental shift he maintains is the only sure way to solve a crisis threatening the global recovery.

In meetings in recent weeks in France, Poland and now Washington, Geithner has made the case that without strong backing from their central bank, governments in the euro area will be hampered for years by suspicion that their bonds are risky bets for investors. That lack of confidence has rocked global markets in recent weeks and could continue to threaten the European economy and banking system...

The idea Geithner is advocating would make the ECB more like the U.S. Federal Reserve and other central banks, which provide a last-resort guarantee that a government will not run out of money.
Since the current eurozone crisis is largely the result of the peculiar virtual halt in money printing by the ECB, the thought has to enter the mind that to a significant degree this EZ crisis may be a planned crisis designed to herd all EZ countries toward Geithner's vision of an even more fun-filled bankster controlled European financial system. Economic tyranny for all!

  1. Planned crisis? Geez, conspiracy theorists give these people WAY too much credit. Lew rockwell has already seriously injured his website with that kind of silliness.

  2. Planned theatrics, the BIS way. All these birds are from the same nest.

  3. No doubt this is a planned crisis. Euro-federalists like Guy Verhofstadt and other members of the Spinelli Group have been pushing the whole eurobond agenda for years now.
