EPJ 3 Week Internship Opportunity

On April 25, I will be speaking at the New York Federal Reserve Bank.

As part of my speech, I would like to present data and charts on various economic occurrences since the Federal Reserve was founded, including the number of recessions, various pieces of price inflation data, money supply growth over various periods, etc. Most of the raw data should be available from either the FederalReserve.gov site, the BLS or the St. Louis Fed, but the growth rates I will want and other data (plus charts) will have to be created from the raw data.

If you would like to help me with this project and believe you have the necessary basic mathematical skills and willingness to dig into the data and then create great charts, please send me an email explaining why you should be the intern on this project where data will be delivered to the New York Fed like they have never seen before.

Note: All the work can be done by phone and email, so as long as you have access to those, your location is not important.

  1. Maybe you should consider crowdsourcing these tasks. There are probably a lot of people who frequent your blog who could contribute something but couldn't allocate 3 weeks to a task.

  2. I'm guessing this isn't your favorite website, but be sure to skim the factoids from this Selgin piece about the history of the Fed.

  3. I hope we get to see it all after the presentation.
