Catocide

Using a date rape drug on an underling, then attempting to buy silence using organization funds.

  1. Heh. Looks like the Catoites never got the memo from Walter Block that "libertarian" and "libertine" are two different and unrelated things.

  2. I take it you're absolutely certain of this? Because you can and will be sued for libel if it isn't true...

  3. Those of us with reading comprehension and knowledge of defamation law will recognize that RW has done nothing to expose himself to liability.

He identified no person specifically and even if he did this person would likely be considered a public figure and the defamation becomes that much more difficult to show. RW would have to have knowingly said something false with malice.

Neither is true. Keep it coming Bob.

    1. I'll try to be somewhat more pleasant with my response. He does actually leave himself open to a lawsuit - he specifically identifies CATO by name and accuses it of involvement (in any case, even if there is no case simply being sued at all can cost you tens of thousands). Now, I'm fascinated and positively gleeful about this story, but I just don't want Bob to get burnt if it doesn't pan out.

  4. Ya kinda like saying there are rumors that "so and so is a white supremicist". Bob can say this stuff all day. I'd like all cosmotarians to come out and apologize for using date rape drugs on interns....until they do so I urge a boycott on all cosmotarian organizations...this includes Reason magazine, CATO etc

    1. Why not at least address these rumors in a direct fashion instead of hiding? The longer they ignore this the more true these rumors must be. The only doubt is whether the drugged intern was a male or female.

    2. There is a good chance that the drugged intern was a male. Think about how hard it is for a man to come out and say he was raped. It is difficult for a woman, but for a man... impossible.

  5. soooo to summarize
    julian assange=frame job
strauss-kahs=Guilty! oh yeah government sucks he's innocent!
    crane=Guilty!

ps if you "date rape" somebody and they accept your "settlement" whats the problem from a libertarian standpoint?

    1. The problem with the "settlement" comes in when you don't use your own money but Cato donors money.

Second, it appears we are talking not about "date rape", but the use of a date rape drug. That is something that can be objectively tested and thus well beyond the "he said, she said" of DSK or Assange.

    2. The problem is that the settlement was with organization funds, not personal funds. Making it both illegal and immoral.

    3. Banacek, that only makes sense if the victim went to the hospital, which wouldn't make sense if she were bought off. I'll wait to form an opinion until there's a real story out there.

  6. Anyone got a list of interns and their length of service? It would be easy to spot the short term ones.

  7. Back when I socialized with them, the Cato peeps had no trouble getting sex, especially the ones at the top. And most are in couples as well. I find this dubious.

Here is my video of the socialists protesting the Kochs action
