An Upcoming Libertarian Film Star

Lew Rockwell has posted a podcast of an interview he conducted with Amanda BillyRock.

It's a great interview with a talented gal. In recent months, I have seen a few of her youtube videos and have been impressed with her ability to get across libertarian concepts. So it came as a shock to me when she told Lew that she only became aware of libertarianism about a year and a half ago. We have a real quick study on our hands here.

Lew's interview, along with links to some of her youtube videos, her Facebook page, etc. is here

  1. A strikingly beautiful young woman with a natural ability to communicate.

Between Tom Woods (not QUITE as beautiful, but attractive enough), RW, LR, RP, and Amanda, I think Liberty is being very well represented.

I almost left out Bob Murphy in his underwear!! Now that IS striking!

  2. Well, libertarianism isn't exactly rocket science. I mean, there are only two core principles. If you've got those down, then you've got libertarianism down pat. How those two principles came about is another story, of course (that may take years of study). This is not to take anything away from the woman, I certainly like to see more libertarians, especially ones that are willing to put their face out there. If you're out there spreading the word and getting subscribers, rock on! It's certainly more than I've done.

I am essentially a complete moron (or, at least very unintelligent), but I got libertarianism in like sixty minutes and can speak halfway proficiently on the topic. I've been studying economics for over 10 years, and I still wouldn't listen to a damn word I say on the topic.

    1. Joe, even never meeting you and just "speaking" with you on these comment threads, I can honestly say that your self-assessment in the second paragraph here is completely and totally off base.

Don't sell yourself so short, man.

    2. No, I would say that it is accurate. I just read a lot and have a knack for logic, so it only appears as if I know what I am talking about. Usually it is the people who don't know me that say that I am smart. I've never heard those words uttered by anybody that actually knows me well (they know the stories that make up my life). However, this is beside the point.

The point is that libertarianism is an extremely easy political philosophy to get. You don't need to be smart, you don't even need to spend hours reading, all you need to do is understand the two principles and apply them to any and all situations. I've only seen one halfway decent challenge to these principles (the flagpole scenario), but that was on moral grounds (which is not the scope of libertarianism).
