Rhamaland: 5 Dead in 12 Hours

This Rhamaland weekend is setting up to be another weekend with more killings than the Aurora Massacre. The Tribune reports:

Six people were shot and five of them died during a bloody 12-hour period between 4 p.m. Thursday and 4 a.m. Friday, according to Chicago police.

Among the dead: two men in their early 30s in a gang-related slaying on the Southeast Side, a 22-year-old former CPS basketball player who recently committed to a Division 1 school for basketball, a 35-year-old clerk at a West Side gas station and a 25-year-old man killed in a drive-by attack in the Park Manor neighborhood.

The lone survivor of the violence was a 14-year-old boy who was shot in the 6700 block of South Carpenter about 11 p.m., police said. He was shot in the arm and torso and treated at Comer Children’s Hospital for his wounds, police said.

A sixth person died Thursday afternoon at Advocate Christ Medical Center from gunshot wounds he sustained last weekend near 85th and Exchange avenues.

The first shooting happened about 3:50 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Rhodes. A 25-year-old man was fatally shot there in a drive-by.

A little more than an hour later, a 22-year-old former Washington High School basketball standout was killed in the 11600 block of South Vincennes Avenue, police said. He may have been trying to break up a fight, police said.

Just before midnight, two men were each shot multiple times in the head and multiple times in the body. They both died inside a car at a self-serve car wash on 100th Street just east of Torrence Avenue.

Early Friday morning, a 35-year-old gas station clerk was killed in a robbery in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. He was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr., Hospital of Cook County about 4:25 a.m
Bottom line: Government rule, which includes minimum wage laws, drug laws and poorly educated children--in combination with LBJ Great Society programs, which separated fathers from families, results in more deaths on a week after week basis, than does any crazed nut job killer. In fact, understood correctly, it is government officials like LBJ who are the crazed nut jobs responsible for the most killings.

  1. Why so many and so often in Chicago? Didn't the Great Society programs infect the entire country?
