Ignorance Is Bliss: Bill Gates Peddles Foreign Aid

Someone needs to get Bill Gates a copy of Hazlitt's Economics In One Lesson pronto! Also Bastiat's That Which Is Seen, and That Which Is Not Seen would help.

Watch the 1 min clip below of Gates talking about foreign aid...how success is being measured...how it's becoming "more like a business"...and how cutting it would be a bad thing.

Interestingly, Gates stays mum about "measuring" the fraud, waste and abuse that accompanies foreign aid. He doesn't talk about "measuring" what's expected from the foreign country after they receive their cash. There are always "strings attached".

Perhaps Gates hasn't heard of Ron Paul's famous quip that "Foreign aid is taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries."

Gates is lost.

True charity...true giving...is voluntary giving.

The costs that go unseen just don't cross his mind. You can't see the costs on those who had the money stolen from them, so they must not exist.

Between Gates, Buffett, Trump, Bloomberg, the Kochs, and other prominent billionaires, I say it's high time that a billionaire with some economic sense is sorely needed in the U.S.

    1. I sometimes wonder if should abort austrian no-tax pledge and scrape these billionaire scums to the bone till they are left with just enough for a one bed apartment and food.

Gates wants me to pay half of my income every year in income tax, sales tax, inflation tax, house tax, and on and on

while he writes off all his income as capital gains (or even losses and re-investments) and pays not eve 10%.

white working class is being destroyed by these parasites.

  2. Yes - but look what happened to Conrad Black, who was merely a multimillionaire and outspoken conservative. Similar to the Kochs I suppose who also get a lot of hate directed their way. My point being that the cagiest billionaires never publicly contradict the dominant paradigm, and those who do suffer the consequences -- unless and until the paradigm is about to change.

  3. They haven't figured out that accumulating lots of wealth does not give them special insight into how the world should be organized.

As for Mr. Gates's position on foreign aid, I suggest he open his checkbook and take his hand off my wallet. If he wants to enrich a foreign dictator, let him pay for it.

  5. John Mackey is a good candidate but he's "only" worth $100 million
