Add Another Tool To Obama's Belt -- Ordering Pre-Emptive Cyberattacks

Strengthening the Executive continues on its merry way in the USA.

From The Verge:
As the United States government looks to codify its stance on cyber warfare, President Barack Obama has been granted authority to order premptive strikes if officials detect imminent digital threats from overseas.
The President can already violate the Constitution (and has since WWII) to go to physical war without Congressional approval. Why not extend that to cyberspace as well?

No need for the people, and their dopey "representatives," to have a say. In fact, they don't even need to know about it:
Naturally whatever policies are established will be highly classified and hidden from public eyes, though it's expected that the most severe cyber strikes will still require the president's direct blessing.
Naturally...
"...and the way to make government accountable is to make it transparent, so that the American people can know exactly what decisions are being made, how they're being made, and whether their interests are being well served." -- Obama January 21, 2009
Thank you very much! Make sure to tip your waitress.

  2. And besides their preparing to war against their own people (with their buying up millions of rounds of ammo etc.), they will probably also cyber war against us, by having government agents hack and destroy the websites and blogs of their critics.

  3. The US government is transparently fascist, for example. It's staring you in the face, if you only care to look.
