Murray Rothbard on the Ed Koch-Era Parking Meter Violations Scandal

The late Ed Koch was never pinned down directly to any corrupt NYC government deals, but many around him were not so fortunate. Here Rothbard uses an infamous NYC parking meter scandal as an object lesson to explain how crony government deals are made.

  1. My guess is that "business" in terms of "gov't work" is done this way at least 75% of the time....I wouldn't be surprised if it was 90% of the time.

    Gov't contracts are rarely won on merit, mostly they are won on connections/corruption.
