Madoff in Charge of Computer Systems at His Prison

Why does this sound a bit surreal to me? NyPo reports:
Bernie Madoff told CNNMoney, in a telephone interview from his federal lockup in North Carolina[... that he] spends his days doing menial tasks at the Butner Federal Correctional Complex, making a whopping $40 a week.
"I used to work as a clerk in the commissary, and now they have me taking care of the telephone and the computer systems," said Madoff.

  1. You really can't keep a good man down! He'll likely be running the joint in two-three years. Get this man a bloomberg terminal.

  2. He's probably running a Ponzi scheme for cigarettes.
