BREAKING Putin Says Snowden Can Stay in Russia

The Russian television network RT is reporting that Russian President Vladimir Putin says NSA leaker Edward Snowden can stay in Russia, if he wants to, but only if he stops activities aimed against the United States.

UPDATE

Reuters reports:
President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that Russia would not hand former U.S. spy agency contractor Edward Snowden over to the United States but that if Snowden wants to stay in Russia he "must stop his work aimed at harming our American partners".[...]He said Snowden should choose his final destination and go there.
Since all indications are that Glenn Greenwald already has the raw data from Snowden that he needs to publish further disclosures, it is not clear what Putin is doing here. It is not going to stop Greenwald.

  2. Russia is not safe. It is too fickle. Snowden is a poker chip that can be thrown in the pot any time it becomes expedient. Edward should get out now.
