Congress to Get Obamacare Exemption

Laws don't apply to those at the center of power. They are privileged creeps.

The White House has approved a deal that will exempt members of Congress and their staff from some of the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, Politico is reporting.

Under the law, lawmakers and their aides were required to source health insurance "created" by the law or offered through one of its exchanges, and without the subsidies they currently enjoy. The members of Congress would have faced thousands of dollars in additional premium payments each year, the report said. However, the Office of Personnel Management now plans to rule that the government can continue to make a contribution to the health-care premiums of the lawmakers and their staff.

  1. So let me get this straight...the government requires private businesses with over 50 employees to provide health insurance to their employees but doesn't do the same for Congress critters and their staffs?

  2. In a related story, the White House has approved a deal that will allow members of Congress and their staff unlimited funds for hookers, alcohol and drugs. The new program is named HAD and goes into effect retroactively from the moment an individual starts work for the government.

White House press secretary Jay Carney defended the deal saying, "We are aware that the retroactive payments will likely cost taxpayers an additional trillion or so, but what the hell, these public servants work hard for the American people, and the Obama administration wants you to understand you've been HAD..."

  3. Disgusting. Just how much more abuse from the govt are the people willing to take? I think it's pretty much guaranteed that people won't get upset until a complete collapse, and their SNAP cards stop working.
