Alan Grayson: House Syria Vote Will Fail

The Syria resolution will fail in the House of Representatives, predicted  Rep. Alan Grayson on Thursday afternoon after a classified briefing, reports Politico.

House members are listening to their constituents, Grayson said, who are jamming members’ phone lines in opposition to involvement in Syria. Grayson estimated the response from citizens to their members has been “100-to-1” against the resolution, which translates to a no-go in the House.

Politico continued:
Grayson maintained that administration officials presented members with little to further sway their opinion on Thursday.
“They’re recycling the same old stuff. I heard nothing new,” he said.

I hope he is correct. However, I remember the TARP calls from the public were about the same. We know how that ended - they kept voting until they got the right answer.

  2. Right. Popular opinion was 100-1 against TARP and the bankster bailouts in 2008, yet they still passed it on the second vote.

Part of me wants to see this go down in flames in the House, after which Obama and his elitist orcs from Mordor-on-the-Potomac start a war with Syria anyway. I want to hear talk, serious talk, of impeachment, especially from the Democrats. I would relish the sight of mass antiwar protests against the Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Ok. I really don't want anybody to drop bombs on Syria. People would die and that would be horrible. But the impeachment proccedings and the mass protests? Yeah, I really want to see that.
