Who the Hell Is Living on Mars?

The Houston Chronicle reports:

A NASA camera on Mars has captured what appears to be artificial light emanating outward from the planet's surface.

The photo, beamed millions of miles from Mars to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., was taken last week, apparently by one of two NASA rovers on the red planet.

Although the space agency hasn't issued any official statement yet about the phenomenon, bloggers and NASA enthusiasts have started chiming in.

  1. I've always felt that we are already being observed. All you have to do is search "UFO" in youtube to come up with literally thousands of unexplained videos of stuff moving around the atmosphere in ways that aren't natural. Lights is all sorts of shapes, triangles, the classic cigar shape, etc. 'ufocasebook' is a good cite to see the more convincing videos without having to sift with a ton.

Statistically, the odds of another planet with the same set of criteria for life as ours aren't just good, they make it probable. 20 planets inside the "golden zone" have already most likely be found within our limited ability to reach out. The only question left is still the big one, how does/did life start with all the other factors in place?

That's the room for those believing in a god of some sort. The march of science might eventually show us how it springs from nothing, but in the mean time we shouldn't ignore the signs around us that we aren't alone.

  2. I doubt conscious life exists on other planets. If it does, it doesn't exist for a very long period of time. Ultimately such life becomes irrational, disengages from reality and destroys itself. I submit conscious life on this planet as evidence for the hypothesis.

  3. It is all conscious. Our brains create the illusion of our individuality. The reason to love each other unconditionally is the same reason to love yourself unconditionally. We are one.

  5. In related news, Krugman is calling for more federal stimulus to protect America from Martian terrorists. "I told you so!" he was quoted as saying.

  7. The NASA fake picture team goofed. They either forgot to cover up this small area completely or pasted in fake landscape image XX without checking the image borders.
