Christopher Cantwell

From the Southern Poverty Law Center:

A one-time drug dealer, candidate for Congress and aspiring stand-up comedian, Christopher Cantwell now hosts Alt-Right luminaries such as Matthew Heimbach, Augustus Invictus and Andrew Auernheimer, aka, Weev, on his call-in talk show “Radical Agenda,” which is live-streamed via Facebook and UStream three days a week from his home studio in Keene, New Hampshire.

On his show and in mordant essays published on his website Christophercantwell.com, this 36-year-old self-proclaimed fascist – whose style borrows from such mainstream shock jocks as Howard Stern and Opie and Anthony — argues for an Anglo ethno state free of African-Americans, Jews and non-white immigrants, save, perhaps, for the occasional exception.

In Cantwell’s world, Blacks are prone to violence and have lower IQs; Jews spread communism and can’t be trusted; immigrants are outbreeding whites; and a race war is all but inevitable.

Cantwell has called for the violent overthrow of the U.S. government, and, in previous years, for the assassination of ordinary law enforcement officers and other government workers. Democrats and “communists” need to be “physically removed” from the country, Cantwell insists, and white men should consider polygamy to increase number of Caucasian babies being born.

Cantwell’s violent rhetoric and racist statements have gotten him kicked out of one libertarian organization after another, and with each ouster, he has moved further and further to the right, culminating in his alliance with neo-Nazis and white supremacists, and earning him a loyal, paying audience of haters.

“[M]y goal here is to normalize racism,”  he explained to Hatewatch in one of two interviews for this profile. “I'm going to make a commercial enterprise out of saying things that people want to make illegal. I'm going to make a whole fucking bunch of money doing it. Anybody who gets in my way is going to find themselves in a very long list of people who regretted underestimating me.”

Though his hatred of law enforcement and the state has waned as he has drifted ever rightward, Cantwell’s corrosive rhetoric occasionally spills over into real life. Combined with an admitted history of alcohol and drug abuse, it makes for a volatile combination, as Cantwell’s influence expands and his participation in Alt-Right and neo-Nazi events increases.

  2. Headlines call this a "shooting rampage", and as a father I have the deepest sympathy for Richard Martinez and his unimaginable grief, but lost in the renewed call for gun control is the inconvenient fact that, as of this writing, 50% of the victims died from stab wounds.

It would be interesting to know this wretched young man's medication history, although unlike his firearm purchase history, this will doubtless remain a closely guarded secret.

To amplify Mr. Cantwell's central thesis, we can speculate with some degree of assurance that a young man driving a late model BMW was someone accustomed to having his every desire satisfied, an unwholesome artifact of modern permissive (Progressive) parenting.

Funny how they're not talking about banning knives. eh? It's sickening to see the Idiot Left using this tragedy to score political points for one of their twisted pet issues.

  3. Cantwell is absolutely on target about the "message" of this event. But let's not get too involved with the "reality" of it, since this was a blatantly staged event. Elliot's videos, published prior to the "event", have absolutely NO passion or sincerity evident in them. (use discernment). His 140 page "manifesto" (handed to CNN, BTW), are a poor attempt at recording ANY kind of internal "rage". (read it; it's sophomoric writing of poor quality...Was he attempting to create a screenplay...for his Movie Director Dad?).
The culmination of my skepticism came when listening to the father of a "victim" who never shed an actual tear, (although all the media describe him of "tearfully" speaking of his son), but who immediately launched
into an attack on the NRA, and politicians, who are not promoting mental health screenings and "gun control". What about the knives this Elliot used to stab his 3 roommates? No call for knife control? (if he wasn't getting along with his roommates for a couple of years (see background), why didn't Daddy just put him in his own apartment? He had a 40,000 dollar car...)
Why does the victim's father want to "get together" with the killer's father to promote gun control and mental health screening? Not mutual forgiveness and healing? This is so un-real.
None of this makes sense...to me... and the videos and the 'Manifesto' don't ring true. These are not the emotions of a seriously disturbed person... they sound 'scripted'.
Not to mention that there is no police dash cam photography of the "chase"... all we know, we are being "told" by the media. And they don't even seem to get their story straight... one "witness" saw two people in the car, and one of them was 'shooting'...

I'm not 'telling' others to not believe, but for me...this is over the top, in-your-face stage direction and manipulation.
I apologize to anyone offended at my reaction...but this "event" smells really bad to me.

  4. Given the number and frequency of these mass shootings and their routine pattern of rushing the stories into and through the media-mill, it is surprising to hear anyone take the official story and couch into a liberal v. conservative diatribe. Why is it that the perp always makes a self-incriminating, public confessional?

He was 22, a kid, but apparently made of prodigious strength, for according to the official story he was killing people all over the place at 9 different crime scenes. But the video and photographs of him clearly show that he’s no Marine. At some point he had to have been taking on someone larger than himself, right? Ah, not really: http://willyloman.wordpress.com/2014/05/26/santa-barbara-shooting-youtube-refuses-to-disclose-date-rodger-posted-phony-motive-video/.

There was more than one shooter; there always is. http://bit.ly/1iklNcq. 9 crime scenes? One perp? Logistically, how does 1 boy create 9 crime scenes by himself? Wait, let me get this straight. At each crime scene after he kills people there is no remorse, no victory at the kill but only maniacal drive ratcheted up after each murder? Does anyone know human who has acted this way? In literature or history? Battle-hardened Marine snipers don't behave this way, yet we accept this nonsense because of the hysteria in which the media frames the events?

And what about the police? When have you ever seen police work this fast on anything? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9CynvMlFyo. From the moment the events unfold, they're on the crime scene, they’ve collected all the debris and evidence, got a name of a "lone gunman," collected witness stories, compared them, fact-checked them, wrote up reports, released them to the media, found YouTube videos, and the County Sheriff reports to the public, flanked by officers standing in alignment, hands locked defensively and submissively over their groin, and the Sheriff reads without a decibel of doubt a neatly packaged, very conclusive narrative that one kid murdered 7 people over 9 crime scenes? Yeah, and I've got a great piece of lake front property on the 9th quadrant of the dark side of the moon if anyone is interested.

  5. Cantwell's analysis of the incident is sound. However, isn't it odd that he is commenting in the first place? Cantwell is an atheist. He has no source for his morality or outrage. Presumably, to him, we are all just random collisions of atoms - rearranged pond scum. Where does he get his concept of right and wrong? What makes him think the world wouldn't be better off (if he has an explanation for that concept) without the people that Rodger killed? Why does he use words like murder? Why does he care about issues like this and the possible future consequences? The atheist has no explanation for death and suffering, so why is he so upset by it? Truly, the fool has said in his heart there is no God.

I don't buy that an atheist "has no explanation for it."

I think the explanation differs based on your belief system. I think he clearly sees humans as the fault.

"Why does he use words like murder? Why does he care about issues like this and the possible future consequences?"

You don't have to be a theist to use the word murder.

He cares because it's in everyone's interest to not go around murdering each other. We all have self preservation in mind, regardless of whether you are a believer or not.

    2. "You don't have to be a theist to use the word murder."

You obviously missed my point. An atheist has no source or authority other than his own opinion to make a distinction between right and wrong in general or killing and murder in particular. What makes Cantwell's opinion about guilt or innocence any more valid than Hitler's or Stalin's or Bush's or Obama's?

"He cares because it's in everyone's interest to not go around murdering each other."

Who says? You? Why should I accept your opinion over that of any other bag of chemical's? Who's to say if it's in everyone's interest or not if another bag of chemicals lives or dies? Who's to say what IS everyone's interest? Who's to say what murder is?

"We all have self preservation in mind, regardless of whether you are a believer or not."

A true statement, generally. But can you explain why? An atheist can't.

    3. "Why does he use words like murder?"

Simple. Because another person's body is not yours to destroy. The killer doesn't own it. Property rights.

    4. @Anon - May 25, 2014 2:49PM:

I happen to be an atheist as well and I have to say I'm sick to death of this retarded argument that someone who believes in one less god than you (apparently) has no moral foundations. Of course we do and we don't need a stupid document written thousands of years ago by fundamentally ignorant people to tell us that taking the life of someone who has not harmed us is wrong (especially considering just how murderous the god of Abraham is/was). We don't need the threat of hell for us to see that taking things that don't belong to us is wrong.

For all the protestations of 'theists' that we non-believers have no moral foundation, just how many of us enlist in the military to go murder foreigners in the name of the state. Read some Lawrance Vance sometime to learn just how many 'Christian' churches in this country praise the warfare state.

I'd say that when it comes to issues of right and wrong, moral and immoral, we atheists have a little bit better track record than you folks. Sure, Stalin, Mao, and the other communists may have butchered millions, but they didn't do it because they didn't believe, whereas the church sure as shit did.

You've failed in the basic logic at hand, it's so axiomatic that I just don't have the energy to explain it to you...it's just not worth the time as 95% of the people reading it already would.

      "A true statement, generally."

Of course it is, it doesn't even matter why most peiople believe it. Self preservation is something that a hardcore Christian might typically have less of than an atheist for crying out loud...so maybe you should reflect on that if you're a believer.

You're full of shit here pal. BOTH of you have the SAME problem. It's called "human nature".

    7. @Mike "Because another person's body is not yours to destroy. The killer doesn't own it. Property rights."

An opinion based on...? What if the next guy doesn't believe in property rights?

@Sacha "I happen to be an atheist as well and I have to say I'm sick to death of this retarded argument that someone who believes in one less god than you (apparently) has no moral foundations."

Work on your reading comprehension. I never said you don't have morals, I said you have no explanation for objective morality.

"we don't need a stupid document...to tell us that taking the life of someone who has not harmed us is wrong [or] to see that taking things that don't belong to us is wrong."

There's a reason for that. I can explain it, and you can't.

      "Read some Lawrance Vance sometime..."

In my Memorial Day email to my Christian friends (denouncing Christians who "support the troops," etc.), I highly recommended Dr. Vance - I love his stuff.

"I'd say that when it comes to issues of right and wrong, moral and immoral, we atheists have a little bit better track record than you folks."

      Your next sentence belies that.

"Sure, Stalin, Mao, and the other communists may have butchered millions..."

This is like father in Monty Python and the Holy Grail: "Now now, let's not bicker and argue about who killed who..."

"but they didn't do it because they didn't believe, whereas the church sure as shit did."

I don't want to start a separate argument here about Catholicism, so I'll let that issue slide, but let's take a close look at the numbers, ok?

The Real Murderers: Atheism or Christianity? http://www.str.org/articles/the-real-murderers-atheism-or-christianity

Oh, what a stunning argument. You've runs around me, logically. How could I have been so blind?

    8. Anyone who denies Christ is off-kilter, period. The argument concerning who is the bigger murderer misses the point entirely. Atheists are wicked sinners leading themselves and others to their deaths, and state churches (Roman Catholic AND Protestant) often become drunk with their own power and find themselves knee deep in "heathen" blood. Both sides of this debate would do well to look toward the comparatively smaller group of non-resistant Christians that have existed since the time of Christ, though they've been branded and slandered over the years (particularly by the state churches). Lord Jesus' teachings are alive and well, but you'd be hard-pressed to hear them coming from either an atheist or a state theist. The truth is out there folks, best you become a seeker before it's too late; no one is guaranteed tomorrow.

    9. @Anon,

" We're talking about tens of millions of people a result of the rejection of God."

What a load of horse crap. Commies killed all sorts of people not just believers so did your precious church. And let's get another thing straight, any article that quotes Dennis Prager is crap. The article you quote only bothers with 300 years of Christianity and totally skips 2000 years of bloodshed, not to mention the fact that that bit of history was written and approved by the church.

The most important thing you seem to be missing is this; Christianity and communism killed in the name of the state because both were the state.

I can't explain objective morality because I don't believe in the little invisible man in the sky? There are certain truisms in this world especially for those of us who respect property rights.

@ Anon, "Anyone who denies Christ is off-kilter" I am a wicked sinner huh? I thought we were all wicked sinners? Why would I care about 'Lord Jesus' teachings? Have you ever worked on a Sunday? Guess what? Jesus' teachings condemn you to death. You might want to pay attention to that OT, he didn't dismiss the old ways you know.

  6. Cantwell spot on yet again, this kid was beyond fucked up from what I've read about him. Obviously there are no surprises that the regular cast of characters are using this tragedy to advance their statist agendas.

  7. Do any of you ever read Salon.com? They are clearly representative of the country's largest and most vicious hate group, the "progressives". It is always interesting to learn of the horrible and ghasty things which will occur as the result of our insistence upon a strict prohibition of the initiation of violence.
