Saudi Arabia’s King Meets Top US Corporate Insiders

In recent days, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has met with senior US corporate executives during his current trip to  Washington.

The king seeks to lure foreign investment in the face of sustained low oil prices.

Salman is on his first visit to the US since taking the helm of his country in January. He held talks with President Obama on Friday.

The king was accompanied by his son, deputy crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The US side included representatives from GE, Chevron, JPMorgan, Boeing, Dow, Alcoa, Fluor, Halliburton, Raytheon and Lockheed, reports FT.

This is the big league folks. If you don't have serious crony credentials, do not even enter the building.

  1. I don't understand how anyone would ever want to work with the Saudi royal family or their company Saudi Aramco. Might as well work with Lockheed or any US defense contractor. Russian oligarchs are more sympathetic.

I know of some acquaintances that work for Aramco. I just shake my head. I wouldn't work at Pemex or Petrobras either, but neither of those nations meddle (or push US meddling) on the same level as the privileged Saudi royal family.
