Best Look Yet at Amazon's Flying Drone Delivery Program

The eventual goal is to deliver packages weighing five pounds or less within half an hour.

"One day, seeing Prime Air vehicles will be as normal as seeing mail trucks on the road," Amazon writes.

It's still in testing, but this is what it is going to look like.

  1. Now all they need to do is make the drone big enough to carry a passenger and we've got "personal air transit" from driveway to office or wherever.

  2. This still seems far fetched... perhaps they will implement it in small regions but overall I still think it's just a clever marketing scheme.

  3. Pretty cool. I think it will be implemented without much fuss, but will be kept to a minimum by the amount of extra charges assessed for the convenience. One could use a tablet or phone to find the store nearest to oneself with those particular shoes in stock, then stop by on the way to the game for far less cost, presumably. I like the idea, however, as well as the peripheral upgrades that other companies would employ to combat Amazon's faster delivery time (like better online inventory info, and online buy-and-hold ability for in-store pickup - or even brick and mortar delivery service via outfits like doordash.com).
