That was fantastic. Dr. Block made an excellent, and I think for most viewers, an easy to understand, argument.
He's really gotta stop using the term "niggardly" especially in front of a black woman.
Why, because "a black woman" can't possibly be educated enough to know the etymological origins of the word "niggardly" and understand its proper use in the English language? Your statement is the real offense here. Not only to a black but to any educated person.
An unappreciated consequence of trying to avoid perfectly good words is the interruption of coherent thought. How can I express my argument in the best way I can if I have to run a censorship process in my head all the time and find a replacement for the forbidden words? It's been shown that multitasking is detrimental and the ignorant PC crowd wants us all to do it with respect to words like "niggardly".
I have to agree. He should at least avoid that word because it makes us "appear" racist. I understand he has a vast vocabulary and that word really has no racist connotations. But like it or not we have to deal with the PC programming. 95% of people watching that will take it as a racist comment. You have to take into consideration your audience when you make an argument for or against something.
Rafi, I laughed at your joke, and got it because of the sad truth.
@theageofnow,I see what you did there. The question is, do you?
