WOW Spotted on the Bill Gates Bookshelf

As a follow up to my post yesterday, Bill Gates Has Put Out A Summer Reading List, a friend emails:
On the other hand, check out this photo of his bookshelf that appeared on Wired. Who knows what books they have circled, but you can see Tom Woods' book Meltdown on the top shelf, second to last standing book.
This is damn fascinating. Meltdown is a hardcore explanation of what really caused the 2008 financial crisis. That Gates has this on what appears to be an exclusive bookshelf (Gates has an Einstein and Steve Jobs book on the same shelf!)   tells you he knows what caused the crisis. Woods did a great job in this book.

  1. It's to the right of the top circle...

  2. Tom Woods merely published banker propaganda which shifted the blame away from the bankers and towards the govt.

    1. Considering the gunverments and pseudo government agencies (Fanny/Freddy, etc.)policies the gunvernment is most to blame. Most of the liar loans would not have been made if not for the moral hazard enabled by the gunvernment.

On the other hand, considering the connection between the banksters and the gunvernment, blaming one is blaming the other at the same time.

  3. Wow! Thanks for sharing this insightful and astute observation. I too want to lay praise on Wood's Meltdown. There was not a wasted character in that amazing book. Full of sound economic reasoning and classic quotes from the austrian Gods. Simply superb.
