Trump Urges Exit From Market Boosted by ‘Artificially Low’ Rates

Is Donald Trump reading the EPJ Daily Alert?

Trump said this morning that interest rates set by the Federal Reserve are inflating the stock market and recommended 401(k)-holders to get out of equities, just like he did.

“I did invest and I got out, and it was actually very good timing,” the Republican presidential nominee said in a phone interview with Fox Business.

“Interest rates are artificially low,” Trump said. “The only reason the stock market is where it is is because you get free money.”

In recent weeks in the ALERT I have warned that money supply growth is slowing.

I suspect it is just a seasonal slowdown but it could cause short-term weakness in the U.S. stock market.

Trump, though, doesn't appear to get that the real threat is consumer price inflation acceleration, gold hasn't been going up for no reason.

  1. RW, I thought you'd have figured this out by now. Every statement he makes is to appeal to /some/ sector of voters. Which means all your huffing and puffing (and everyone else's) is for naught. Nobody knows what he will actually do in the WH (and he is going to win). Get ready to bend over no matter what.
