The Limits to Obama Free Market Advocacy

There are limits.
President Obama was interviewed last week by  Fareed Zakaria before Obama left for the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, China. The interview was aired this Sunday as part of Zakaria's GPS show.

Obama's comments were, for the most part, typical statist propaganda but I found interesting that he correctly identified China's trade policy as mercantilist, which it is.

He furthered stated that the Chinese should move beyond mercantilism, which they should. Does Obama actually understand basic economics and is willing to spout it when it suits advancing his crony interests?

He followed his correct economic comments about Chinese trade to hail the restrictive labor regulations that are part of TPP that will do nothing but create more unemployment in Third World countries. Demonstrating that there is a major limit to how far Obama will advance a free market agenda. If a free market item is not going to help the cronies, you won't hear about it from Obama.
