Citigroup and the CIA?

For the record.

Michael Froman,  who has served as the U.S. Trade Representative since 2013,  spent much of his career within the United States Department of the Treasury. After the end of the Clinton administration in 2001, he joined Citigroup where he received more than $7.4 million from January 2008 to 2009.

In 2008, while at Citi, he sent the below email (via Wikileaks) to John Podesta while Podesta was a senior advisor to the Obama Administration. The email asked "Any news on CIA today?"

My PTT email seems to be having difficulty, so if you need me, please copy this account too.
Any news on CIA today?
Put it this way. I am not surprised.

  1. The CIA's primary job is media manipulation. Creating "the narrative". Parading the endless line of "experts" on tv to "inform" us. Given that it's the end of 2008, they are no longer able to hide the recession so they are in damage control. He's getting nervous and wants to know what the talking points will be.
