Hillary is Right about What Millennials Living in Their Parents' Basements Think

Well, well behind the scenes Hillary Clinton appears to be a little more sane than what you hear publicly on the campiagn trail.

In a leaked audio clip of comments she made to top donors at a private event in McLean, Va. in February, Clinton revealed that she would likely cancel plans to upgrade the nation’s cruise missile arsenal. “I certainly would be inclined to do that,” she told a questioner who asked about rolling back the Long Range Stand-Off (LRSO) missile program.

At the event Clinton also referenced the millenials that were following Sanders so-called revolution, and said "It’s a false promise. But I don’t think you tell idealistic people — particularly young people — that they’ve bought into a false promise...there’s just a deep desire to believe that we can have free college, free healthcare, that what we’ve done hasn’t gone far enough, and that we just need to, you know, go as far as, you know, Scandinavia, whatever that means, and half the people don’t know what that means, but it’s something that they deeply feel....They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement,”

Two points for Hillary.

  1. Interesting. Why doesn't she say things like that publicly? Is she showing the "real" Hillary to her donors or to the public?

  2. Yet, during the recent debate she kept repeating something along the lines of "debt free college." This is the kind of person who knows it's a false promise but cynically keeps repeating it because she thinks it will help her win votes.

  3. She clearly understands that some donors have a lot more sense than many millenials.

  4. I don't know what Hillary's ideology is. I guess pragmatic interventionist? Dems don't usually consider cost at all.
