Nancy MacLean's Book Has Been Nominated for a National Book Award

Nancy MacLean's book, Democracy in Chains: The Deep History of the Radical Right’s Stealth Plan for America, has been nominated for a National Book Award.

Yes, the book that is a remarkable distortion of James Buchanan and the libertarian movement is up for the award.

The only thing I can think of here is that the Left's hatred of
libertarianism and also the Koch brothers will cause them to take every opportunity to attempt to smash both even by promoting a book that distorts and contains absurd arguments.

It is very much the way they attack Donald Trump. There is plenty to attack Trump on from a policy perspective but the Left's continuing assault on Trump does not differentiate between real and imagined grievances. It's "get Trump be any means necessary."

The same apparently goes for the Koch brothers and libertarianism. The attacks must be made by any means necessary including propping up a book that is sloppy, evil and full of distortions. This is the only possible way this book could have become a National Book Award nominee.

Scholars from both the left and right have pointed out the many problems with the book. See:

  1. We should take this as a BIG WIN and say "Thank you". This is just another admission that the left KNOWS they cannot refute us on the merits and must lie and use violence to maintain their position in society.

    So what else is new?

  3. This review contains an endless supply of links to other critical reviews. But why the shock at ALL the lies? DEMOCRATS ALWAYS LIE.
