Gary Cohn To The Rescue: His Plan to Kill Trump's Tariffs

Gary Cohn, who is the heroic free trader in this edition of This Week at the White House, has orchestrated a meeting on Thursday between President Trump and executives from American aluminum and steel end users who would be hurt by the tariffs as part of a last-ditch effort to derail Trump's tariff plans, reports Jennifer Jacobs, White House reporter for Bloomberg News.

According to Jacobs, Cohn’s anti-tariffs meetings Thursday will include leaders from automakers, breweries, beverage can manufacturers and the oil industry.

John Kelly will attend, as well as anti-free traders Commerce Sec Wilbur Ross, Trade Rep Robert Lighthizer and adviser Peter Navarro.

This is going to be a battle.

  1. The tariffs will just result in finished parts being made overseas instead of domestically due to the raw material cost.

  2. Hoping for a major league GS crony to save the day? This is where we're at now?

    1. Libertarians are nothing but irrelevant cheerleaders for the neoliberal status quo these days. The Ron Paul revolution is gone, forgotten and never coming back.

    2. RW's lost it. Celebrating crony capitalists is the new "libertarian".

    3. Wait, so we should stop opposing tariffs just because some crony also happens to?

  3. It's almost surprising that you think Cohn is a free-trader. He is a crony who will take, and lobby, any position that benefits him and his fellow cronies at any given time. This is why the libertarian movement is shambolic. You morons attach to any "lesser" evil without the comprehension of what that attachment does to your reputation and image.

Again, not surprised. RW showed himself long ago as a pissant for the liberty cause when he opposed marijuana legalization because it would be taxed. A total fraud the man is.
