NIGHTMARE: Navarro on Trump's Short-List to Become Chief Economic Adviser

Peter Navarro, the next Trump chief economic adviser?
Now that Gary Cohn has put in his resignation as President Trump's chief economic adviser speculation is turning to who Trump might choose to succeed Cohn.

Mike Allen reports that Peter Navarro is on the short-list.

The protectionist Navarro, who doesn't seem capable of grasping even basic economic concepts, would be fueling Trump's naive economic thinking if he were picked. Economic policy would be pushed into a very dark place.

Not perfect, but much better than Navarro, the free market, pro-free trade Keynesian, Larry Kudlow is also on the list.

UPDATE

Peter Navarro, director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, said he's not a contender to replace Gary Cohn as national economic council director. "I'm not on that list, let me be clear," he said on Bloomberg Television. Navarro said he has a "very full plate" as in addition to trade, he's also working on issues involving the defense industrial base.
