"They took away our freedom even to choose what we want to eat"

James Grant emails:
A friend messages from Venezuela (translated from Spanish):

"Yesterday arrived at the house the box of CLAP. It is depressing and pathetic to have to rejoice because we get a box of food with products that the Government gives the desire to facilitate, but we do not really have access to food.

In the bag of the CLAP came only 3 kilos of pre-cooked corn flour, 3 kilos of rice, 2 kilos of pasta, 2 kilos of sugar, 1 kilo of black beans and 1 liter of oil.

That bag has a value of 30.000 Bs., and it must last a month and a half.  It is the government's food Program.

They took away our freedom even to choose what we want to eat.
In the end the people were the ones who placed them in power, and now we don't know what to do. It's our responsibility.

That's the reality.

The Venezuelan people are resigned.

That's what you breathe in the environment."
