Trump to Leave G7 Early in Anticipation of a Tough G7 (Minus US) Statement at the Close of the Meetings

Hours after world leaders vowed to confront President Trump about U.S. tariffs at the G7 summit this weekend, the White House announced he would be leaving the event early, reports the Daily Beast.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Trump will leave the summit in Quebec at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and go directly to Singapore to prepare for his June 12 meeting with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un. By leaving several hours early, the president will miss sessions on climate change, as well as the traditional group photo of world leaders.

He will also be long gone before any statement from the group is issued criticizing Trump imposed tariffs.
But, of course, there is this perspective:
We come out even better?

DJT needs to write his own economic textbook.

  1. There are many things to criticize Trump for, but if he keeps prompting other governments to grow spines and challenge US government hegemony, that's not a bad thing.
