Oh Yeah, The Really, Really Amazing Tree Cutting Machine

Check out the video below. It is titled the "Most Terrifying Machine In The World."

But the machine is absolutely magnificent. The video is only two minutes and 39 seconds long but it is incredible how many trees can be cut down by one man sitting in the cab. This is a massive gain in productivity. That's what capital always brings. And it frees up many lumberjacks to do other work. Remember, it is the lump of labor fallacy to think there are only a set amount of jobs and that lumberjacks won't be able to find other work.

Just think about this. A fixed set of trees can be cut down with a lot less labor. The freed-up labor then works in other sectors. If the tree production stays the same and the former lumberjacks do other work, then it means more goods and services are created overall, thus raising the general standard of living.

  1. Further proof that immigration should have been shutdown two decades ago. Of course, I'm sure in libertardian land those lumberjacks will get payer jobs right? And hell, if corporate America or a private company wants to bring low IQ violent Muslim Somalies to replace an American, will, who cares what happens to society?

    1. Just want you to know that I have been reading this blog every single day (along with TL) since its inception in '06-'07(?) and you are by far the single-most intellectually under-developed, annoying, pathetic brat I have read here but, I always remind myself to look at the bright side: due to your circumstances thankfully you're not in a position to do any real harm in the real world.

  2. So this machine is basically like an immigrant: it will take our jobs, doesn't speak our language and won't assimilate, and can do terrifying damage if allowed to roam free. Hopefully ICE can get to work to make lumberjacking great again.

    1. The company that made it is also headquartered in a MUSLIM country, which should intensify the triggering.

It's more like a colored; a useful agricultural tool if properly directed by an intelligent person, but something that will eventually be rendered useless by better technology.

It’s printed right on the side of the machine

  4. That machine is cool, also making one of the world's most dangerous jobs much safer.
I agree about productivity freeing up labor for other tasks. I think what people struggle with is the "friction" of the job market. People don't quickly move from one role to the next, especially if a mill or factory is shut down in a small town. Most people are not willing to move, or try everything they can not to.
