There are many, shall we say "unclear," statements coming out of the White House about the trade discussions that occurred during the Saturday dinner meeting between President Trump and President Xi in Buenos Aries at the G20 Summit.
There are many claims coming out of Trump and his administration but little in the way of confirmation from China.
In a new briefing in Beijing a few hours after the Trump tweet, China’s foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang declined to comment on any car tariff changes.Larry Kudlow admitted on press call just now, "We don't yet have a specific agreement on that" -- never take a Trump tweet at face value https://t.co/CGL8lUkcaz— Joshua Green (@JoshuaGreen) December 3, 2018

FACTS:— Chad P. Bown (@ChadBown) December 3, 2018
1. President Trump has imposed tariffs or other trade restrictions in 2018 alone covering about $280 bn of US imports, or roughly 12% of total goods imports in 2017.
Despite all of his announced "deals," NONE of those tariffs have been removedhttps://t.co/pZHuPliQ38
