Bernie Sander "Family Values" Agenda

It's actually an anti-free market agenda that requires businesses to provide all kinds of freebies to employees, including:

  • A Guaranteed Paid Vacation Act which would provide 10 days of paid vacation for employees who have worked for an employer for at least one year.
  • At least 12 weeks of universal paid family and medical leave to care for a baby or in the case of a worker diagnosed with cancer or has other serious medical conditions or to take care of family members who are seriously  ill.
  • At least seven paid sick days.

These added employee costs will, of course, result in lower worker pay. No business pays out more than the gross revenue product its employees create. If government mandated fringe "benefits: are increased, to come under revenue product created, wages will have to be cut.

Nice going, Bernie.

  1. As it stands right now we are getting the worst of both worlds. All the economic and other liberty restrictions but none of the benefits like August off. As things are going we'll more realistically see August off rather than economic liberty.
