Yale Classmates Put Pressure on Steve Mnuchin to Resign as Treasury Secretary

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has come under fire from fellow members of his Yale class of 1985 following remarks by President Trump about the Charlottesville protests and counter-protests that turned violent last weekend. In an open letter posted on the website lettertostevemnuchin.com signatories from his class urge him to resign.

Although his comments seemed reluctant, President Trump did not state he supported Nazism or white supremacy but the open letter to Mnuchin, who is Jewish, read in part:
We call upon you, as our friend, our classmate, and as a fellow American, to resign in protest of President Trump’s support of Nazism and white supremacy. We know you are better than this, and we are counting on you to do the right thing...
We can be Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Greens, and a number of others things and still be friends, classmates, and patriots, but we cannot be Nazis and white supremacists.
To date, 336 of his fellow classmates have signed the letter.

  1. Another lame smear by the elite against Trump. Same crap they tried pulling on Ron Paul. The shop worn and tired 'da rasis' card. If he leaves, maybe Trump can populate his cabinet with some real leaders.

Personally, I think it's great that the illegal Mexicans are self deporting. Now if we could the rest of the illegal Chinese, Indians, and some Russians to leave, that would be great to. And shutdown the H-1 program and kick out the green card holders.

Still unemployed, eh? Maybe time to start looking in the mirror instead of blaming every imaginable foreigner.

    2. You need to get out more Evan. Lots of people on LinkedIn looking for work. But yes, we don't need any more legal or illegal immigration. You are an example of a person who clearly does not have a life or property worth defending.

  2. I don't understand where they are getting this conclusion from, and also it seems odd that Trump would support Nazism given the religious inclination of Jared and Ivanka.

When you read a letter like this, it calls into question Yale's reputation for admitting the best and brightest, and providing a high quality education.
