U.S. Proposes Global Minimum Corporate Tax Rate

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen

The Marxist hate of business is flaring. The Empire is upping its push for a minimum global tax on businesses.

Corporations around the world should pay at least a 15% tax on their earnings, the Treasury Department said Thursday as part of its push for a global minimum for businesses.

The final rate could go even higher than that, according to a Treasury release that said the 15% minimum is a “floor and that discussions should continue to be ambitious and push that rate higher.”

"The international tax architecture must be stabilized, that the global playing field must be fair, and that we must create an environment in which countries work together to maintain our tax bases and ensure the global tax system is equitable and equipped to meet the needs of for the 21st century global economy,” the department said in a news release.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has bemoaned low tax jurisdictions which she says are causing a global “race to the bottom” in terms of countries cutting their rates to try to lure foreign companies.

  2. "Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has bemoaned low tax jurisdictions which she says are causing a global “race to the bottom” ..."

Earth to Janet Yellen: *all* of human action is a "race to the bottom" to satisfy consumer demand because the economy *is* the satisfaction of human desires.

There is no "new socialist man" that will eliminate human uniqueness, which is part of *being* human.

So, all the unique characteristicts of humans (different desires, different aptitudes, etc.) are what create arbitrage opportunities for other people to leverage and make a profit off of.

And these arbitrage opportunities are, far more often than not, *logically* only available to some people and not to others.

So, wealth and income inequality isn't, in and of itself, nefarious, but normal and desirable, and an expression of what it means to be human. Desirable because the alternative is that we would have to be exact copies of one another for inequalities not to happen.

No, taxes don't need to promote equity or even equality; If anything, they need accomplish what taxpayers, themselves, want it to accomplish. (All taxation is theft, I get that.)

Marxists have the order of value wrong. It goes Individual Goals > Means > Satisfaction Of Goals.
