Ron Paul Respect

Lew Rockwell posts this important analysis by Ron Paul of the Libyan situation and beyond, but what also struck me about this interview is the respect Dr. Paul received in this interview from CNN's John King. This is occurring more and more often. It's a far cry from four years ago, even from last year. It's only the more thoughtful television anchors at this point, but can the sheep in the news industry be far behind? Once the sheep are on board, it will become obvious those still in rude attack mode against Ron Paul are the true hitmen of the establishment elite.

  1. Very happy to see this after so many hit pieces or patronizing ones.

He symbolizes an older, wiser generation than ours.

  2. This respectful gentleman takes on all comers, rude or or other wise. The rude know this and are much unaware as to how to diffuse Dr. Paul's consistencies.
This is why they hate him and try to pin the crap on him, except this man has Teflon for armor, the truth.

  3. Sadly, he will never be elected President. Obama will win re-election. Too many lemmings and people dependent on government payola.

  4. Ron Paul seems so out of place in the world of talking heads. Their usual fare is much less civilized.

  5. He correctly called RP a "non-interventionist" rather than "isolationist" that most people incorrectly label him with.

  7. Difster, I noticed that, as well. It is funny that I often hear the term "isolationist" coming from those in the Republican party when in fact the American use of the term originated with WWII, when Democrats called Republicans isolationists for their stance against involvement in Europe. Interventionism has two side to the same coin, one being non-interventionist in foreign political matters, the other being protectionist in trade relations with foreign nations. If both of these two ideas are not present, then one cannot be said to be an isolationist, rather they are merely a non-interventionist. Considering Ron Paul stance of free trade, I take this label cast upon him with as much credence as those who label Ron Paul a racist- it is impossible for an individualist to be a racist.

I also liked the fact that Ron Paul made mention of neutrality, because it has a much more inspiring connotation to it. Surely, people would not label Switzerland and isolationist nation.... Though, they do practice neutrality.

  9. RP: "It's always going to be the money."

    Well said!

Economics uber alles, this is why a serious understanding of the Austrian economic framework is critical for understanding social issues of all shapes and sizes.
