  1. One thing that has to happen is that people need to get past the idea that the "War on Drugs" is a well intentioned failure. Like so many other government initiatives, it is neither well intentioned nor is it a failure with respect to its real purposes, which are to enrich and empower a relative handful of people at the expense of the rest of us and to exert even more bureaucratic control over our personal lives. As long as people continue to consider the WOD as good in its inception and motives and not as the evil thing it is, they will continue to support it and the argument that since it is a good idea, if not successful, we need to just do more of it and do it harder.

    1. Agreed.

Lincoln destroyed the republic with a civil war against the
constitution, Nixon finished the job with a civil war against
      the Bill of Rights.

The Golem is on the loose; it's time for pitchforks and torches.

  2. And one other thing, it remains mind boggling to me that people (particularly people who consider themselves to be "free") casually accept the idea that anyone has any right to dictate to others what they may or may not ingest into their own bodies. How on God's green earth did mankind ever reach the point where they accept this proposition as defensible?
