Interventionists to the Left of Me, Interventionists to the Right of Me

Mayor Bloomberg has banned large container sugary drinks in NYC, because he his concerned that people are getting too fat.

In Israel, models are banned who are too skinny, and they have to visit a doctor every three months to prove they are not too skinny.

Medical Express reports:

In this Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 photo distributed by Adi Barkan modeling agency, models stand in line for a fashion shoot in Ramat Hasharon, Israel. A new Israeli law prohibits the employment of underweight fashion models. The new law requires models to produce a medical report no older than three months at every shoot for the Israeli market, stating that they are not malnourished by World Health Organization standards.

Bottom line: The global interventionist trend continues and no corner of our lives will be spared. If you are deemed too fat, or too skinny, by the state, you will be harassed. As always, what, I'd like to see is government regulations applied to politicians.  Let's put weight requirements on them. They shouldn't be too fat or too skinny, which would get rid of at least these annoying two, from both ends of the weight scale.
