Vice President Joe Biden's Niece in Police Custody in NYC

A niece of Vice President Joe Biden was taken into police custody on Tuesday morning for scuffling with cops who were sent to her Tribeca apartment, police sources said, according to the NY Daily News.

Officers were there to break up a fight between Caroline Biden, 26,  and her roommate, police sources told NYDN.

Biden has not yet been charged.

Sources said police responded at 9:15 a.m. to the Desbrosses St. building where Biden lives. She “got physical” with officers who questioned her and took her into custody.

She was briefly detained in 2009 by Amtrak police because of a “misunderstanding over a train fare.”
