  2. It's impossible for any human being to refrain from discriminating. We do it every time we choose person A over person B. When homosexuals choose who they're going to marry, they're discriminating against all those people they didn't select. What a ridiculous argument. Ventura lacks discernment, and someone should inform him that being an atheist doesn't mean you're automatically correct in all arguments. He dropped that line in one of his conspiracy theory books as well, and it almost immediately turned me off to reading the rest of it.

What if the Christian hospital healed one of the gay partners and then told them "sin no more" as they were leaving? Would that also be discrimination? Maybe hate speech? Jesus heals the impotent man and proceeds to tell him, "Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee" (John 5:14). He also told the adulteress, "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more" (John 8:11). If that same man or that same adulteress were to return to him at a later time without turning from their sin, what would he have done?

  3. I like the fact that jesse does not trust the R's and D's but his world view about government is not really any different than Obama.
His thought process is exactly the way people should NOT look at issues. Completely closed minded. He wasn't even listening to the counter arguments being made. All he cared about was his view.
Another very sad example of the way many people argue issues.
Robert, once again you were very professional and logical. You were challenging Jesse through logic and Jesse only know how to respond to logic that attacks his views by getting loader, interrupting and finally cutting the argument short because he realized he could not bully his way to a resolution of the issues.
Before this interview I was subscribed to Jesse's channel, but honestly in a busy world i don't have time to listen to a closed minded bully.

  4. The fact that he said "because you are white you don't know what discrimination is" shows you his prejudice.
Jesse with all due respect sir white discrimination is the only legal discrimination left in this country.

    1. Wait. What? Did he really say that? If Jesse is really THAT thick then I'll save myself a lot of time and not bother listening to this idiot. Seems like just another boring, shit turd leftist.

  5. Ah the old "you just want to go back to Jim Crow Laws" when discussing private property rights. Does he not think about the LAW part?

Is he so blind that he can't even see something that obvious and simple? I've lost jobs because some company had to fill a quota so Jesse don't give me that bullshit about not understanding discrimination pal. You're full of shit you leftist coward.

  7. LMAO!...the irony of listening to Jesse's bigotry against those that believe in God while he argues against discrimination is funny as hell!

When I was a kid I loved wrestling in the 80's and Jesse was my favorite heel. When he went into color commentary he was great too.

He's just too ingrained & constrained into the political paradigm as it sits now. He thinks he's outside of it, but his thoughts are still constrained by it.

Great interview btw RW, I can't believe how much you've improved since you started.

I wonder if Jesse will ever one day recognize that the ultimate path to both peace and freedom would be property rights & the NAP.

I doubt it. Most people stop thinking once they get past a certain age. The phrase, "set in your ways" comes to mind.

    2. I've heard that before. I wasn't even substantially exposed to libertarianism until hearing Ron Paul in 06' (I was around 35 at the time) during a primary debate and looking up things on my own.

I really didn't embrace full on statelessness as ideal until around 12'. I've heard some claim they were predispositioned to libertarianism, I'd like to think I was but didn't have exposure to the right people/philosophy. Anyway, I always hold out hope that people who are logical, regardless of age, are open to such.

I think of my wife's grandmother, a thorny crank who I came to really love, leaving the church she help to found 60 years earlier, at 90 years old, for another-over scriptural interpretation changes...and think there's always a chance someone may undertake serious change no matter the age.

I may be too optimistic though speaking to your point and she made a BIG change in churches over her refusal to compromise her principles. It kinda of speaks to both sides of the issue of change interestingly.

  8. Ventura reveals himself as the BIG Govt guy he really is here. Ventura APPROVES of the Govt using violence against a private party, violating their private property rights, hoping to enforce the Govt's version of morality in the society. One thing for sure, he is no libertarian. He doesn't understand the non-aggression principle nor the private property rights principle. Ventura probably doesn't have any issues with the way the current Fed Govt Empire is setup, he most likely has issue with the way it's being run.

  9. Freedom = Jim Crow laws. Ok, Jesse.

He's a very confused liberal, but, at least, he hates war. He'd still make a better president than Rand.

  10. Wow, very impressed Robert with how much your interviewing has improved. You remained calm and civil, while Jesse was getting all emotional. I think Jesse has a good heart, but he is an intellectual lightweight. Does he not realize that Jim Crow laws were government laws? The businesses were trying to cater to blacks but were not allowed because of state laws.

Jesse wants to impose his vision of the world onto others. Thus, he is no better than your run-of-the-mill progressives. He would be dangerous if he were to wield political power. Stick to criticizing war, Jesse.

  11. No after show follow up after he talked over you for 20 minutes and then cut it short?

Also, way to keep your cool. Returning the favor probably just would have made him more belligerent.

  12. I want to know where you were going with that redskin comment though, seriously. Very curious.

  15. Finally got around to listening to this. As usual when someone disagrees with him Jesse makes lousy arguments and acts indignant and sanctimonious to his opponent, "You've Really Convinced Me." His main feature is that he's a loudmouth that talks over people. Robert's points show true respect for property rights not the forced social coercion that Jesse wants. His example of his gay friend not being in allowed in a hospital seems weak to me. Hospitals these days don't really care about visiting hours. I went and saw a friend in the ICU once at midnight and they didn't mind. It's funny that he says his opinion is objective because he's an Atheist and believes in science and doesn't have religion telling him what to say. All that does is show that he knows very little about both science and religion. It's also a little much for a pro wrestler from the 70's and 80's to decry stereotypes from the NFL.

On a more serious note the Venturas of the world are why those against gay marriage are adamant about it. The idea that government shouldn't be involved is a good one. I wish we could have taken it a step further though to see what Ventura would have said if a gay couple tried to sue a church to be married there. Would he still find that their rights were being violated? Does he actually care about religious freedom? Does he realize this has the potential to violate religious rights of individual? It would be the minority oppressing the majority. Anyway still a very fun listen.

  16. I don't know why I always thought that Ventura was a much more legitimate libertarian than that.
    Good job, Bob.

  17. Libertarians really need to stop embracing people simply because they are counterculture, or outside the mainstream.

It really weakens the movement when the attraction is based on being "against the status quo" instead of being for the foundational aspects of libertarianism.

    Ventura is one such guy.

  18. Ventura is no libertarian. He's a full-blown socialist. I watched a speech he gave a few years ago and he said "we" needed a single-payer "health"-care system. He's an idiot.
