The Principled Ludwig von Mises

The principled economists have always been Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard.

  1. He's wasn't an anarchist, so you better disavow him and attempt to refute his worldview.

    1. No, but he was an adamant supporter of secession, in principle even of each individual, from the state.

I'm with ya at least 90%, Bob, but he DOES have a point.
OTOH, somebody has to set the limits (on pure lib.).
    See, I'm a complete wuss and I see EVERYBODY'S point.. :(

    1. No man, you're not a wuss. You are reasonable and assimilating information until you are sure of your position. That's a good thing IMO.

It's also reasonable to see the "other" side as being reasonable even if you disagree. When I read that Ron Paul has his doubts as to whether society would have a police function or a mechanism for defense without a government, I see that as a reasonable argument even if I don't agree.

    2. Capn Mike - you are not a "wuss" you are simply wrong or a liar. You want "somebody...to set the limits..." on commerce without coercion?! You are concerned that people will be too respectful of each other in their economic transactions?! That they won't initiate enough force and coercion against each other?! That they will use too much logic in resolving their differences?! And therefore we should embrace a little socialism?! Von Mises was speaking as an economist and his "worldview" has no relevancy. He was absolutely correct the room was full of socialists and that was and remains the problem if you are in favor of improving human wealth and well being and you understand that theft destroys human wealth and well being.

  3. principled? instead of admitting you got it wrong, reject positivism and claim economic facts can't refute economic theory. 2+2=potato≠principled

    1. Didn't get anything wrong. No economic facts have refuted praxaeological derivations. Ran to avoid the Nazis from two countries. Never recanted against weakness, compromise, selling out to oppression. If we all could be so strong.

You continue to ruthlessly savage sock puppets in your mom's basement and occasionally internet.

      JW: Troll. Loser. Weirdo.
