I had drinks last night with Pippa Malmgren, a former member of The President's Working Group on Financial Markets, aka, The Plunge Protection Team.
She currently resides in London and was in town for meetings with Elon Musk.
She passed along major news about her book, Signals: The Breakdown of the Social Contract and the Rise of Geopolitics.
The book has been picked up by a major new publisher. W.W. Norton, the publisher of Freakonomics.
They plan a major new push for the book in 2016. Although the book is not in any way a direct rebuttal of Thomas Piketty's Capital in the Twenty-First Century , it is going to be promoted as an alternative, mainstream pro-free market, contrast to Piketty's anti-capitalist views.
Pippa tells me that the current version of Signals will be removed from Amazon in the next couple of days, and the book will be updated for re-launch. So if you want to do a compare and contrast between the current version of Signals and the re-launched version after it goes through the hands of a mainstream editors, you better buy the original now.
