22 Days in Paul Krugman's Masterclass (Day 1)

Paul Krugman
Okay, so I spent the $90.00 and signed up for Paul Krugman's Masterclass so you won't have to.

The class is composed of 22 lessons. I will watch one lesson a day and report on the lesson here, good or bad.

Here is what went on in Lesson 1:

Lesson 1 is the introduction. It is all of 3 minutes and 44 seconds long.

Although in the opening scene there is some Krugman voiceover that tells us the world is in a lot of turmoil there is nothing more than skyline and street scenes of New York City with clips of news anchors breathlessly reading headline economic news.

Then things get interesting, in an odd sort of way.

Krugman finally comes on screen at 1:33, and I am not making this up, begins to sit down wearing a black shirt but when he is finally in his chair he is wearing a blue shirt, a different sports jacket and clearly sitting behind a green screen that wasn't there in the first shot.

Here are two stills from the "lesson" taken about 3 seconds apart.

I really hate to focus on the quality of the editing here but there really isn't much else in this lesson.

Krugman thinks things are in turmoil. He thinks people should understand the world they live in and he hopes to do help educate people in this Masterclass.

Maybe things will pick up in Lesson 2 tomorrow.
