The Obama's Mother and Geithner's Father Connection

I have mentioned the connection, between Barack Obama's mother and Treasury Secretary Geithner's father, before.

I have a bit more information on this curiosity, and given the pressure Geithner is currently under, it's time to update the file.

Geithner's father, Peter Geithner, was head of the Ford Foundation's Asia grant making for a period in the early 1980s, including micro finance grants. He traveled and lived throughout Asia--which to me smells like a perfect CIA cover.

Obama's mother Ann Dunham-Soetoro developed the micro-finance program in Indonesia. The latest, according to Ian Wilhelm of the The Chronicle of Philanthropy, the Ford Foundation says, "they met at least once in Jakarta."

At this point, this is nothing but a curiosity. But some curiosity.

  1. Maybe it's a curiosity in the same sense that it's a curiosity that Herbert Hoover and FDR both worked in the same building before their White House days. 120 Broadway, New York.

  2. From Gary North:

"Hoover and Roosevelt had known each other for years. In their years off the Federal payroll or the New York State payrolls in the 1920's, they both had been on the payrolls of business organizations with headquarters at the little-known but crucial address: 120 Broadway, New York City. These connections were discussed by Antony Sutton in his 1976 book, Wall Street and FDR. Historians, who are universally pro-FDR and anti-Hoover, have ignored all these connections for 75 years. They discreetly refuse to talk about Roosevelt's employment as a bond salesman, 1921–1929."

  3. Microfinance then/tarp bail-out now/ connection?

  4. Guess it's a small world after all.
