Gold Near-Month Futures Contract Closes Below $1,100

Gold for April delivery fell $8.10, or 0.7%, to $1,099.50 an ounce at the close of floor trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Gold's decline today comes on the heels of  a 2% drop on Friday.
