Ron Paul Will Speak at Official Rally, But Not at Paul Festival
Florida's Sunshine State news is reporting that Ron Paul has announced that during the weekend before the Republican National Convention begins he will speak at a rally his presidential campaign is holding.
However, he will not appear at the Paul Festival, another Tampa event organized by the Paul supporters but not authorized by his campaign.
“I'm sure it will not only be a great time, but it will also go a long way toward proving you and I are the future of the Republican Party,” Paul wrote supporters before informing them it “will be the only preconvention event at which I'll be speaking.”
Bottom line: Ron will only be appearing at the Jesse Benton approved rally. But, real libertarians don't take their marching orders from Jesse, which means the long-planned Paul Festival should be where the real liberty promoting action will be.

So is Ron Paul just a puppet and Jesse Benton his puppet-master? Is this the takeaway of this article?
ReplyDeleteI think the takeaway of the article is that Jesse Benton is in charge of Ron Paul's campaign decisions, but that us libertarians should not give a damn about anything Benton thinks, says or does.
DeleteRon Paul or his campaign may return that 'favor' to his supporters at their own peril.
Like Robert noted, the REAL liberty will be promoted at the event not authorized by Benton.
I hear you Tony, but Ron Paul is still responsible and we should not blame Jesse Benton unless is in fact the puppet master. Most are too afraid to criticize Ron Paul directly so they criticize Jesse instead as if that will change anything. Let's clear the air now.
DeleteKent Snider would never have done this. Benton should get the hell out and join Romney's campaign already. He's done enough damage as it is.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you not telling Ron Paul to clean house unless he condones Jesse's performance? I wonder if there is a good cop bad cop at play here. Hold Ron Paul accountable not his "minions".
DeleteIf Dr. paul wanted to speak at the Paul Festival, or at someone's block party, or backyard bbq event, I think it would take a little more than someone like jesse benton to stop or dissuade him. Quit yer whining, the man has better things to do than kiss hands and shake babies at the Elks Lodge in Lutz or wherever this unauthorized event named after Paul is taking place
