In his first public remarks since being arrested and detained in a psychiatric ward for posting controversial song lyrics and political views on his Facebook page, Brandon Raub speaks on camera with attorney John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute, about the events leading up to his arrest by FBI, Secret Service agents and local police and involuntary civil commitment. Rutherford Institute attorneys secured Raub’s release on Aug. 23 after Circuit Court Judge Allan Sharrett dismissed the government’s case against Raub on the grounds that its petition for involuntary commitment “is so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy.”
I thought brandons first interview was with Adam Vs the Man.
ReplyDeleteBrian,
ReplyDeleteI think the interview with Adam was done WHILE Brandon was detained. This is the first interview since his release.
Very specifically, Brandon is a badass.
ReplyDeleteYes, Brandon is a bad ass! We should all be speaking out about the truths of protecting our freedoms just as he did.
ReplyDeleteMore power to this young man and to the Rutherford Institute that helped get him out! Also to Judge Sharrett, who recognized and aborted the governments blatant grab at another of our constitutional right! I certainly hope that there are more Americans out there who think that this was wrong.
ReplyDeleteis it me or does he look like the nut case from aurora?
ReplyDeleteMay God help us all.
ReplyDeleteVery specifically....
ReplyDeleteOne important lesson to learn from Brandon's experience: If the government comes to your door and just wants to chat about your views...don't do it.
