Putin: Snowden is at Moscow Airport

  1. Sounds like Putin is encouraging Snowden to seek asylum in Russia. And quite honestly, that may be his best option. Sure it's not exactly "free" and the weather suck. But it can guarantee him protection. I have enormous respect for Ecuador for standing up to the US on the Assange situation, but the fact is, the CIA or whoever can easily reach him in Ecuador. They will be VERY cautious about f#$@ing with Russia.

    The Fox news croud will be all like "what a hypocrite for defecting to Russia," but the fact is, NSA employees in Snowden's position know there is a safe place to hide, there may be other defectors...and that's what will really hurt the system.

    At the very least, it will force them to be very fearful of defections, just as the old USSR was.
